Kramnik & the overrated Firouzja

Firouja to me seems like a kid who cant have the bag of sweets he’s demanded!

He should come back when he’s grown up!
I'm probably way out of my depth here, but my thought watching the tournament was that Alireza's problem was maybe that he tends to play to create imbalance and complication even at the cost of playing worse moves sometimes. This gets him a lot of points against (relatively) less strong opponents because he can often outplay them in a complicated position and get a win where the objectively better move might have given them more chances of holding out for a draw in a quiet position, but at candidates level it just tends to leave him in bad positions against people who are good enough to get through the complications and beat him.
Alireza has yet to learn that you can't play to win with Black against 2800 rated players. That makes his games more interesting. And he didn't get last, he got 6th out of 8 so I'd say he belongs in the Candidates.

chess would be a horrible game if that were true
it was a mistake to not play an official classical game in the past 6 month, especially when u are only 18 years old u need the pressure to develope your game and mindset.

in hindsight it was a mistake of his father to fully support alireza's divaesque mentality about the incident of moving boards during a game of the tata steel tournament in Wijk aan Zee 2021, but as a father its hard to not to fully support your sons believe if he just hit the 2800 fide mark and being world second best rated player.

if not for that incident he would have played a big tournament right before the candidates

Professional Chess needs more Firouzja. There are too many Drawculas.
Firoujza also hasn't had that many opportunities to play against top GMs in classical chess time controls. Perhaps he will get better as he goes on now that he'll likely get more opportunities. Firoujza has a style of his own and perhaps he will hone it over the next few years. I still see some potential in him.
