Skill Level Of Lichess Player Pool

#10
I forgot lichess switched to Glicko, but back when it used ELO it's ratings were still inflated.

ha ha ha, that reminds me of their somewhat premature announcement of upgrading their site to v3, which they still haven't come around after delaying the release for the better part of three damn years now!
#13, when we had ELO, consensus was that the ratings were deflated, by up to 400 points in some cases. The purpose of switching to Glicko (and making the starting point 1500, not 1200) was in order to even out the discrepancy.
#1 In lichess the starting rating is 1500, while in chess.com is 1200 if i remember correctly. This is why a player with 2000 bullet rating is likely to be a better bullet player than one with the same rating on lichess. For example my blitz rating here is about 2000 while on chess.com it's 1850. I have no idea about ICC cause i dont play on this platform. About the strength of the players though, i believe that it's preety much the same since most of active internet players play on lots of different sites (at least thats the case with most players i know). About GMs and super GMs though, i think most of them play on ICC, or chess.com with those special events like "Titled tuesday" or "Death Match".
I don't think lichess ELO is inflated, it's just different. Players are given 1500 points at the beginning in blitz here whereas chess.com gives 1200. No wonder players have higher ratings here.
@OmegaDoom

Precisely what i say, the player's strength is obviously the same, its the rating scale that changes.
