Hello! I was wondering if it was possible to implement opting into pre-determined teams/sides for tournaments. This would allow tournaments that were more theme-based. Tournament creators would be allowed to set the number of teams, and the pre-determined options for each team.
Some examples of tournaments that players could create with this implementation:
-White vs Black tournaments: players choose the side they prefer to play.
- Horde vs Pieces: Horde version of W vs B.
- Team tournaments: (e.g. "Team Magnus Fans vs Team Naka fans")
- Drafts: Team tournaments where captains pick from a pool of other players...
and other types of fun options I'm sure I haven't thought of! All points earned would be allocated to the team of the player, with the individual point contribution still available.
"What if a tournament is created, but everyone wants to play one side?" Well, that wouldn't be very fun! If the creator was also allowed the option to auto-balance the tournament instead of the opt-in, then players would be automatically placed into a side based on team-balance.
What do you guys think? All feedback appreciated!
P.S.
Big thanks to Thibault for all of the hard work that goes into the site!
