Banning russian IPs

I think, lichess should not let russian ips connect to the lichess servers till the war in ukraine is over.
Nah ... we want the (mostly young) Russians that use the internet to stay in touch with the world.

We don't want them to be trapped in Putin's propaganda bubble.
like this you keep them in the chess bubble.... they need to stay connected to their reality.

The reality of Russia is propaganda, propaganda and more propaganda. That's what you'll connect them more with.

The Russians that are against the war is mainly young people that are connected to the outside world through the internet. We need more of that, not less.

I watched a nice interview of one Ukrainian political expert. He was asked "What do you think about Navalny" and the answer was "Who is that?".
He is right, Navalny has no power beyond his prison cell (similar to your "young russians against the war"). He, for example, can wash a homeless person which sits together with him. That would be a good deed. But there is absolutely no reason to talk about him.
There will not be "better russia" as the West hopes. Therefore it is reasonable to isolate russia as the whole from civilized world, similar to North Korea...
