I don't know what that said, but I was using the position set up, and it wouldn't allow me to castle.
you can't castle when playing from a FEN position. The game has no way to know if the king or the rook have moved already or not.
I was suggesting for there to be a button or something that lets the computer know.

Why would it have no way to know? Any FEN string missing the denotation of castling availability for both sides is incomplete and not standard-compliant. As such, with a correct and complete FEN, there is full information whether K-side and/or Q-side castling is possible for both white and black.

I started a vs engine game from a FEN, and having pasted a proper starting postion FEN string, was able to castle without any problems.
