swiss tournament

I just want the lichess to create swiss tournaments.
Swiss - it's a duty!
People, do not be scared, breaks between rounds are not terrible - it's like in a tournament in reality. In the online version, it's time for coffee and cake. Escape - it's easy, any player who (responsibly) has joined a 9 round tournament knows that every game is ranked even after the first round leaves the tournament. In the remaining eight will lose ranking !!

Do you want to play in swiss-pairing tournaments by lichess?

10 - yes
0 - no
Lichess tournament forces users to stay long on the site. That could be the only reason.
I'll just put it out there that the swiss system did in fact exist on the website about a year or two ago, and it wasn't used very often. While I still think it would be nice to have swiss tournaments on this website, I do understand where the lichess developers are coming from.
In schools or small clubs we sometimes want to make a swiss tournament, but don't have the software, or cannot install in on the public computer.
Is there a way of having something on this site that could be used to pair teams or players that are not register on this site. Manual entering team names or using numbers and then saving under our register user name.
Say we have a tournament in a school and the first round is this week and the next round next week.
If we could save the pairings and have them paired by this site , it would be a great new feature for Lichess.
A swiss system layout with alternating colors for small chess clubs.
I would love to see swiss tournaments as a option!!!
@Toscani
I liked what you said that a new rounds would start weekly, but
otherwise a little strange idea, you essentially request a Swiss paring tool for OTB matches (using outside of this site).
I think it would be better if Lichess fully implement an alternative tournament pairing system, which can be coexists alongside the current Arena system.

And what about Single-Elimination, and Round-Robin or other formats like Ladder? Which one is the easiest to implement? I think that one should we request for the Lichess developer team.
I made a similar suggestion a while ago, I will repeat it here.

There should be two kinds of tournaments: 1) Easy join, easy leave, fast-paced, i.e. exactly what Arena tournaments now offer; but also 2) Round based tournaments, where players commit in advance to play for a longer period. Under the Play tab, these could just be named "Arena" and "Tournament".

Round based tournaments can be Swiss, Direct elimination or Round Robin. The user interface can be similar to Arena tournaments, with a tab for games played each round instead of one long list.

Some other attributes when creating such a round-based tournament could be "number of rounds" or "max. amount of players", but also when each round starts and how long it lasts. This way the same tournament interface could be used for say a direct elimination tournament of 1+0 games with 32 players (5 rounds, 15 min in total) ; or for a Swiss one that lasts for a whole season, with one 45+45 game each week (I know this would bring me at least to play more classical games).

Some problems and solutions:
*) Players that quit mid-tournament: a "tournament completion-rate" can be defined for players, and be used as a barrier to participate in tournaments.
*) For longer tournaments, players need to plan themselves when to play. For this reason, there would have to be a "game schedule tool". The Notification and Challenges icons on top of the page can be used for this, for example to list the games that you are supposed to play with their deadline, or to give a notification when your next opponent is online.
*) Longer tournaments = more opportunity for cheating, but that shouldn't be an argument. I suspect many of these tournaments will be played as private among friends anyway (either IRL or subscribed to Lichess teams)

A separate tool to organise real life tournaments, eg. Swiss, would also be sweet and probably belongs under the "Tools" tab.
