Randomly spawned Bishop? Photo in comment.

I'm new to chess and in my first game on lichess.org my opponent spawned a bishop out of thin air.

Is this a cheat? I'm really confused, I thought only pawns can upgrade/spawn to other pieces.

you are playing Crazyhouse variant.. not standard chess

It would help if you were playing a standard game, but you're playing Crazyhouse. :P
