How many rating points will a 1550 blitz player lose if I play in it?
@Rairden I entered with a 1624 rating. I temporarily was up to 1736 but now I'm at 1710. It's a pretty good tournament for playing higher-rated players if your insights page says you gain the most rating points off of such players - I played a lot of 1800-2000 rated players. Of course, even if you gain points more from lower rated players, it's generally a good idea to learn by playing higher rated people.
There's also the matter of strategically waiting for everyone to be tired in order to farm points off of them, but that seems a little unfair, doesn't it? ;)
I'm sure everyone who plays will have their rating naturally go back to what it is normally not too long after the tournament, and you can stop if it gets too ridiculous, so I don't think it's such a big deal. Then again, here I am not playing more games out of fear of making a fool of myself, so I do get it.
