computer freeze on clicking site

Hi Lichess,

Sometimes when I click Lichess it freezes my computer for about 90 seconds. This normally happens after restarting my computer, which I like to do regularly. I presume it's something to do with cookies.

If I restart my computer and play Lichess every day for a year, my computer will be frozen for approximately 9 hours 8 mins while I wait (or find something very short to do).

Is this normal behaviour or is there something I can do to stop it?
