In 1975...I won $95.00 and a 1st place trophy with 5 wins and 1 draw in my states open tourney (reserve division) I was playing in my first tournament . Came out with a 1637 USCF rating. Never won another tourney since ...but to this day ,I still love to play chess . :]
100 euro, in my very first tournament.
think most ive ever won at a tourney was $202 (the TD divided up things very weirdly; 2nd got $198, 3rd got $194.) but I have won a lot in total.
I've won a lot of small prizes but never a big one. I think the most I ever won at once was something around $130.
15$ in a blitz tournament (we were 3 players tied for 3rd)

In cash, something like USD 50. Most valuable prize was a boom box I sold for ~USD 200.
