FIDE Picks Breast Implants as a Sponsor for Women's Chess

Controlled by Russia/KGB and sponsored by breast implants, huh?

FIDE is evil, obviously. But this one is funny, mafia-style funny.
I think the only question is it was best/highest sponsorship offer. If it was, I think FIDE had the fiduciary duty to accept it. If it wasn't the best offer, what the hell were they thinking? I also think this blog is condescending to women who choose to get implants. It almost suggests they don't have the agency or intellectual capacity to get implants beyond succumbing to "their insecurities". I am aware of the pressure society places on women, I am not going to act like it doesn't exist. But this reads as if there is no good reason to get implants, and the women who get them just don't know any better. I think they are smart enough to make their own decisions, and they certainly don't have to have a reason that someone else finds justifiable. It's a legal business, with consenting adults, I don't know why that is objectionable.

I am a guy though, and I think the only peoples opinion who really matters here are the players.
The only thing left to do - penis enlargement company as a sponsor for male FIDE tournaments.
Hey,
joining late to this, i just want to air my disgust. Not for the article offering this bad news, but the feeling, this leaves is utter incompetence demonstrated by FIDE yet again. And what could be the take away message from this?

FIDE used to be the world organisation to represent chess, but was involved in less than optimal decisions, which lead - one time - to the trial of kicking off PCA as an alternative. Since then, i never felt, they managed to fix the problems they had, even worse, they are actively creating new ones.

My personal support for FIDE is exactl zero, and i intend to revise my plans in order to keep away from any - even unintentional - support of their activities.
But since i have no power or right to vote, i hope, that chess players will grow up to choose (and vote for) a better guidance of their affairs.
Yes, this article seems very negative and I wonder why ....?
Absolutely amazing that women chess gets a new sponsor.
Breast implants have helped many women - and for many this opportunity is only positive.
I applaud new sponsors and in this way new sources of income and possibilities for women's chess

> Fantastic to see FIDE getting ahead of the curve on this. Since trans women are women, and trans women are going to dominate womens chess in the near future (men are better than women because of socialization? Yeah ok, we'll see if that holds up real soon), a breast augmentation company is wholly appropriate and, frankly, very progressive.

> That the commie terfs at the Lichess "HQ" can't appreciate we're living in 2021 is their problem. Perhaps in 2031 when the above comes to fruition they'll reckon with their own transphobia instead of inventing quotes from imagined players.

> There would be no controversy if mens chess was sponsored by a penis enlargement company either, owing to the fact we treat men as adults who're responsible for their own actions and insecurities. What controversy would there be? Society doesn't point the finger at misandry for mens individual choices, only women are babied in such a way. And also, my penis is massive so I don't care.

Huh? Lots to unpack here, are you okay?
