Onwards and upwards!

It’s a great feeling to have over 100,000 players on my favourite chess browser. It’s a real milestone for lichess.
Also thanks @Thibault and @Lichess for their help. You really get that mixture of happiness and pride.

The more people stay at home and pass the time playing on lichess, the safer we keep our communities and lives that are saved. Awesome!

for being an open source project (pretty sure?) lichess is pretty impressive. Its a lightweight, fast site...that actually offers more than other sites. You get free stockfish analysis, you get easy access to a whole database of games, you can easily watch live tournaments with chat. Plus you get dozens of free lessons online on how to play various openings. With so many other sites you have to pay for all this, but here its free and of excellent quality. And I get to play so many fun variants like anti-chess (with analysis!!)

Plus the UI of this site is so clean, and the connections are always stable compared to other disasters like chess24 that seems to regularly have connection issues even during major tournaments...which is quite unbelievable.

This is the site I recommend to everyone if they are interested in chess. I wish everyone just moved here
