Once people play Horde for a while, they might realize white's objective is easier to accomplish than black's, or the other way around.
It is interesting how black and white have different objectives, this is the first variant that is like that, although I find white is easier to play for

But seriously, I think it's pretty cool, since evaluation swings can happen at any moment, and you don't need to memorize openings.
i won 5 games, 3 as black and 2 as white, because (IMHO) I'd understood the main idea of the strategy for black and for white.
And black must play carefully, because they might have a lot of problems at the "endgame"
but, but, I like memorizing theory ;-;
I think it's probably advantage for white, but maybe that's because black has to play more carefully to avoid losing quickly. With best play, who knows? We'll be watching the long-term stats and might publish a balance patch in the future.

Honestly, I hate horde chess. It first starts with its name, its should be called "Peasant Rebellion Chess", since the little pawns are just rebelling against the army of the white king.
