Ban all Russian IPs

Given Russian aggression and Lichess' status as a French non-profit, it would make sense to ban all Russian IPs.

yup, makes total sense.
actually, the way russia currently bans sites that have any real information about the war, they might just do it themselves.

Please stop these topics about banning Russia. It's absolutely pointless and the Lichess mods are most likely not going to do it.

you know more than the rest of us then. afaik they have not made any statement in either direction.

btw, i'd be laughing my ass off if russia bans lichess before lichess can ban russia.

Well, they haven't banned Russia yet after +5 topics about banning Russia, so I highly doubt they will do it.

you must be new here. for example, how many topics you think there were before they banned keyboard? i would wager it was at least a hundred.

bruh.

Keyboard more directly affected chess players, and there was a broader support to ban it. Banning Russia barely affects chess and the topics where they are suggested in have been mostly rejected by the Lichess community.

the war in ukraine affects chess players, and a lot of them as well. chess players are dying in ukraine. russian chess players are banned from high level tournaments. some of them risk a lot by asking for peace. fide has moved all events from russia, and cut ties with russian sponsors. the war hugely affects chess on several levels.
